Our core commitment: SMDUM remains strongly privacy-focused. Most of the app works completely offline and locally. However, we now show occasional non-intrusive native advertisements powered by Google AdMob to support development and keep the app free.
Note: Ads are shown as temporary, easily dismissible native cards. You can close them anytime by tapping the small "×" button. No personal data is used to personalize these ads.
1. Information We Collect and Process
SMDUM is designed to minimize data collection. All usage statistics and calculations happen **locally on your device**.
Local Data (Stays on Device)
- App-level mobile data and Wi-Fi usage statistics (via Android system APIs)
- Aggregated usage summaries (hourly, daily, monthly)
- Basic app metadata (package name, app name, icon) for display purposes only
2. Advertising with Google AdMob
To keep SMDUM free and sustainable, we display occasional non-intrusive Native Ads powered by Google AdMob.
What happens when an ad is shown:
- A temporary native ad card may appear when you open the Dashboard or App Details screen.
- The ad can be closed instantly by tapping the small "×" button in the top-left corner.
- Ads are shown sparingly (once per screen visit or less).
What Google AdMob may collect:
- Your device's Advertising ID (for ad serving and frequency capping)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size) for technical ad delivery
- IP address and general location (country/region level) for ad targeting
- Interaction data with the ad (impressions, clicks) — but only for ad performance measurement
Important: We do not share any of your usage statistics, personal data, or app activity with Google or any third party for ad targeting. AdMob uses its own data and identifiers.
3. Permissions We Request
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
Required to read accurate per-app data usage statistics.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
To distinguish between mobile data and Wi-Fi usage.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE (optional)
Used only for real-time alerts and monitoring features.
4. Data Storage and Security
- All your usage data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your device.
- No usage data is sent to us or any third party.
- When you uninstall the app, all local data is removed by Android.
5. Third Parties
The only third-party service integrated in the app is Google AdMob for displaying ads.

6. Children’s Privacy
SMDUM is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Rights and Controls
- Reset your Advertising ID anytime via Android Settings → Google → Ads
- Revoke permissions through Android Settings → Apps → SMDUM
- Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove everything
- Disable ads by not using the app (we show them very sparingly)
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as we add new features. The effective date will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
